The start dates for the 2012 season have been set and the new rosters should be out shortly. This year we have eight (8) teams in the Premier League and ten (10) teams in B Grade which is the reason for the different start dates. This year see's the introduction of a new event the
"Premier League Singles Championship"
this has been included as the Premier League has a two week break mid season to keep it in sync with the B Grade roster. This event will see three (3) groups playing a round robin on Wednesday nights with qualifyers going through to the final on Sat August 18th, all entry fees will be used to give the Semi Finalists in this event a State Card for next years (2013) State Team tryouts. This year we will be finishing earlier than the last few years, we are only having two rounds - home and away instead of the previous three (3) rounds that we have done over the past few years, it had been mentioned on numerous occasions that the seasons have been too long, so this year we have shortened the roster to see what our members thimk. Anyway have a great year and enjoy your 8 ball.
Eightball Tasmania - State Teams Event
Hobart Workers Club - March 17th & 18th
This year the states premier 8 ball teams competition - "The State Teams Event" was held at the Hobart Workers Club, with the team from the North West Coast
"The Burnie Combers"
a very worthy winner, defeating the defending champions the Eastern Suburbs Rugby Club Breakers 13-10 in the final. The "Combers" team was Captained by Rodney Kaine and included two of the states best junior players in Cale Barrett & Steven Kaine and had established players Tim Wright, Gerrard Wicks & Mick Robson. The South East was represented by the Rugby Club Breakers & the Beltana Saints.

This year the South East 8 Ball Association has had three (3) of its players selected in the Australian teams that will travel to England in June to compete at the World Championships.
